Venetian blinds are still one the most popular style of blind. Available in a multitude of materials and finishes they are the ideal solution when privacy is an issue. At Absol we use a simple cord or wand system that allows the blades to tilt up and down. One of the most popular commercial blinds is the Aluminum Venetian Blind, often used on internal windows to create privacy between offices.

Cedar Venetians –

Nothing beats the warm earthy look of natural timber. Cedar is lightweight and the preferred choice for bigger windows, which can be heavy. Cedar blades are available in 46mm and 60mm widths and can be oiled, stained or painted. Cedar is classed as a Softwood and can dent quite easily if used in high traffic areas of the home.

Wood Composite Venetians  –

Many options are available in ‘Wood look’ Venetian blinds. The question that needs to be asked when comparing products is What are they heat tested to and what the tape spacing is? Our venetians are heat tested to 60° which is essential in preventing the slats from bowing. In some lower quality blinds the material is so flexible that the tapes need to be as close together as 300mm, which gives the blind a very busy look of vertical strings. We use materials, which allow tape spacing of at least 400-450mm. The most popular colours are white and off white but these blinds are also available in ‘Wood look’ such as Cedar. Blade size comes in 50mm and 63mm. Suitable for use in all areas of the home & office including wet area such as Bathrooms & Kitchens.

It must be remembered that the wood alternatives are much heavier than standard timber so size limitations apply.

Aluminium
